"Almost a third of Australian women and a quarter of men are classed as financially unfit, despite improvements in the economy, a survey shows. Nearly 28 per cent of those surveyed had an over-reliance on debt, little or no regular savings, no insurance coverage and high housing costs relative to income, the second annual Bankwest Financial Fitness Index revealed."

"EMPLOYERS are refusing to hire Generation Y workers because they lack a work ethic and spend too much time talking to friends in work hours. " - Not sure how accurate this is, but wouldn't surprise me. I'm a Gen Y and I wonder how some of my peers keep jobs. Gen Y's have been taking on a lot of debt...if they become unemployed = trouble for banks because they have no assets.
